So, you’ve placed an order? And you want my specialty, the Suprise-flavor ice cream. Yanking my crumpled uniform, you asked: “Why is it called as such?”
“If I answer you, then it will no longer be a Surprise, right?” You raised your eye, not used to hearing ‘no’ for an answer.
Okay, so here it goes…
It’s called Surprise because it’s flavor is bound to surprise you. It does that by being, well, random. The ice cream is blended with whatever is available at the moment. There is no exact taste: your second, third or nth serving won’t taste the same.
The flavor was concocted next to my essence: I am not fixed, or rather, its my views and mood. At times, I could make someone squirm. With my eyes or my snobbish ways, I could make anyone (taller than me) back away or stammer. Other times, I could make them smile with what? — A few nice words or a funny tale.
How I treat others largely depends in my moods (apart from the standard bearing and code of things). My moods, they easily shift, almost as if they have a life of their own. Their shifting could be affected by almost anything – a line from a book, an uncomfortable news, an annoying stranger, a scraggly-looking cat, even the beastly weather!
Back to the Surprise-flavored ice cream, let me remind you: There won’t be any nuts or marshmallows or chocolate chips to make your tastebuds happy. Sometimes, when my moods are not busy shifting (or are just undecided), I settle to my default mood: melancholic.
So, expect something plain – plain but surprising, at the tip of your tongue!
